A man's body has been recovered from an early morning house fire in North Anson.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says fire swept through the house before dawn on Thursday. Firefighters closed a portion of North Main Street while they battled the blaze that claimed the life of the homeowner, who was identified as is William Bloom, 63.

The cause was accidental and investigators said the fire started when combustibles located too close to an electric heater caught fire.
