A head-on collision in Hiram has sent four people to the hospital, including a 6-year-old child.

WGME-TV reports the accident happened at around 6:30 Tuesday evening near 1519 Pequawket Trail, which is also known as Route 5. According to the Oxford County Sheriff's Office, two cars collided head-on, injuring four people.

One vehicle was driven by a 76-year-old man, and contained a 77-year-old female passenger, while the other vehicle held a 27-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son, who was in the backseat. Police have not released the names of those involved. All four were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, with the 76-year-old transported by LifeFlight.
