The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Bangor and much of eastern Maine Thursday evening.

The forecast is calling for winds of 20 mph to 30 mph with occasional gusts of 55 mph to 60 mph.

The advisory, which includes the potential for power outages, includes the cities of Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Amherst, Dedham, Perry, Princeton and Orland.

Meanwhile, Emera on Wednesday issued a news release saying the spring storm has the utility "preparing for the possibility of outages and has readied crews and resources to ensure a safe and timely restoration response."
