Any woman who ever had tea parties as a kid will want to take part in this fun event. The 3rd Annual Celebrating Survivors High Tea will be held next month to benefit Caring Connections.

Caring Connections is a collaborative organization that works through the Bangor Y and Eastern Maine Medical Center to help women with cancer, in a variety of ways. From helping with rides to treatments and appointments, to providing wigs for women who have lost their hair, to education and support, Caring Connections makes the journey through cancer treatment less stressful.

It also helps provide cancer testing to women who are under-insured or have no insurance. Not only will they help get these women the tests they need, they'll also provide moral support, which I can personally confirm is really important when you're waiting on test results!

On May 8th, invite the women in your life, whether it's your Mom, sister, aunt, cousin, or best friends, to a High Tea! The 3rd Annual Survivors High Tea will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn (which is such an elegant place!) with music provided by my friends Gaylen Smith and our former News Director Allison Bankston. If you've never heard Allison sing, you have to stop by just for that. She has a beautiful voice! And the event will be hosted by another former News Director, now News Director at FOX Bangor/ABC 7, Craig Colson!

The High Tea will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., which is the official high tea time in England, with the traditional high tea menu of tiny sandwiches, appetizers, scones, and pastries, served with exquisite teas!

Tickets purchased before May 5th will be $40 per person or $70 for a party of two and are on sale at the Bangor YMCA, 17 Second Street, in Bangor. Tickets purchased at the door will be $45 per person or $80 for a party of two.

All proceeds go to help fund the programs of Caring Connections, and their support, education, and treatment for women in our community with breast cancer. For more information, log onto the Bangor Y's website.
