Work continues on the 4.8 mile stretch of Route 3 into Bar Harbor, and the Maine Department of Transportation is keeping us informed as to what’s going on with the project.

Here is what’s happening this week, and all work is subject to change due to the weather:

- This week the contractor plans to work on clearing trees from Lookout Point Road towards the Acadia National Park entrance.

- The utility contractor will begin setting new telephone poles at Old Bar Harbor Road and continue south down the project.

The the two and a half year, $17.9 million project,  will span from a point 0.57 miles west of Sand Point Road to the intersection of Route 3/Eden Street and Route 233 in Bar Harbor.
