I know for a fact that I have the best mom because my mom is completely selfless. As a mother of three girls, she rarely gets time completely to herself or time to spend alone with my dad. My mom always puts us first, whether it be carting us around to practice, friend's houses, school, and extracurriculars, or making sure there is a healthy meal on the dinner table as we walk through the door, she's there for us. My mom works harder than anyone I know. She has a full time job, makes sure to fit some sort of exercise in almost every single day, pitches in to help with my little sister's dance team or fundraising for one of my three athletic teams, always makes sure the house is clean, AND she manages to keep a smile on her face through it all. My mom is funny and understanding, but she and my dad hold high expectations for us to do well in school and anything else, and they supp ort us with anything we decide we want to do. My mom loves all three kids unconditionally and she shows us everyday and for that I am forever thankful that I have the world's best mom!

My mama is the best mama in the whole wide world, because she heals my boo boos and kisses me when I'm feeling sad. My mama is also the best mama in the world because she believes what I say and tucks me in at night. And that is why my mama is the best mama in the whole universe.-Sydney

My mom is my 24/7 caregiver, she is my arms and legs, she hasn't had a good night's sleep in 15 years as she has to get up numerous times during each night to reposition me, you see I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy there's no cure, my lungs and heart are both not doing well and Duchenne boys we pass away from either not strong enough to work any longer. Please research Duchenne thank you! She has always worked outside the home while still being my caregiver, but, my step dad walked out on us 2 years ago and my bio dad walked out on us after my diagnosis of Duchenne. She has worked very hard to keep a roof over my head without going on the state when my dad left us. Just this last year she had to quit her job to stay home to care for me where as she is a single parent once again. She has given up her life to care for me, today she actually got to attend my cousins bridal showe r and this is the first in many years she got to do something away from her duties taking care of me. My mom loves me and sacrifices a lot for me. She worked so, hard to get our house renovations done and now doesn't have the money to finish it all. I hear her cry at night as it was her dream to make the house awesome for our family! She is very knowledgeable of the newest research and medical care that I need and goes up against medical professionals that don't know anything about Duchenne when I am admitted to the hospital anytime. My mom does't get much sleep, she doesn't do anything special for herself, she doesn't get to go out with her friends, she is dedicated to me and my care. I am total assist she has to tend to all of my needs, feeding, bathing, bathroom, scratching every itch I have, etc.. She brings me down to Bangor to hang outside the concert gates with the Bangor FireFighters to hold a boot for MDA Fill The Boot. She somehow manages to purchase tickets to what concert s I want to go to. On FB many Duchenne families from all over the world turn to my mom for support and advice and knowledge and many times a shoulder to cry on or a ear to listen. Many respect my mom and say she inspires them. You will always see my mom smiling and she still tries and brighten others days. My mom deserves to win!
