One person has died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash Wednesday in Gorham.

The accident happened at around 11 Wednesday morning on Route 22, near Deering Road. WGME-TV reports a 21-year-old from Limington was driving an SUV when he crossed the center line and  hit another car head-on. The driver and the passenger in that car, 75-year-old Richard Green and 78-year-old Marion Green of Gorham were rushed to Maine Medical Center. A passenger in the SUV, identified as an 18-year-old from Limington, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say one of the people involved in the accident has died from their injuries. Officials are not specifying which of the victims is deceased, until family has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation.
