A Windham man was killed Monday morning when his pickup veered into the oncoming lane.

The accident happened just before 8:30 on Route 302, near Seacoast Fun Park. Police say 33-year-old Joshua Greenwood was traveling west when his pickup truck crossed the center line of the two-lane road and struck a trailer being hauled by a dump truck. The impact of the crash sent the dump truck into a Honda.

The drivers of the dump truck and the car were not injured. Greenwood was pronounced dead at the scene. There's no indication, at this point, about how fast he was driving, what caused him to veer into oncoming traffic, or whether he was wearing a seatbelt. Police continue to investigate.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the Maine DOT will be installing center line rumble strips on portions of Route 302 this summer, in an effort to lower the number of head-on collisions.
