#Hashtag Hometown of the Week: Lincolnville

Every week we feature a new hometown and share photos and facts using hashtags on social media. This week our #hashtag hometown is Lincolnville!

You may assume this town is named after President Abe Lincoln. But it's not! It's actually named for one of it's earliest proprietors in the area, Benjamin Lincoln in 1802, before Maine was even its own state!

Lincolnville is a beautiful coastal town many pass though on busy Rt. 1. But to live here is a real treat! The town is full of culture and beauty with numerous well known artists living here, as well as authors, a famous martial artist and even the drummer of the band Phish, Jon Fishman!

Lincolnville Beach is not only a beautiful destination for recreation but it is also the Maine State Ferry Service mainland terminal for the ferry service to Islesboro.
