Some of my favorite childhood memories revolve around cartoons. The Peanuts gang marked every holiday with a TV special. And Saturday mornings meant Bugs Bunny cartoons! So I had to recognize this very special day, Bugs Bunny's 75th Birthday!

I remember my parents getting annoyed with me, when I was young, because I'd get up and watch Looney Tunes in our den, which happened to be right next to their bedroom. I mean, it was on at 7 a.m. on Saturdays, so I couldn't really blame them! But I wasn't discouraged. I just learned how to sneak downstairs, as quietly as possible, shut the door to the den, and sit in front of the TV, so the audio wasn't too loud. That's where they'd often find me on Saturday mornings. At least until I reached the 'teen-don't-get-out-of-bed-til-noon' years!

When I went looking for Bugs Bunny cartoons to feature here, I was surprised to find a vintage Tang commercial, featuring Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. They don't look much different than the characters of my youth. And Bugs is still outsmarting the guy who's still calling him a 'varmint!'

Of course, I couldn't finish this post without a little of the classic comic Bugs of my youth. Who can forget Bugs Bunny as conductor? Happy Birthday, Bugs!
