There's a town in coastal Maine that has the third richest zip code in America!

Movoto, the real estate brokerage site, has published a story on
"the richest zip codes in America", and it looks like a little town here in Maine is keeping right up there with the Joneses.

Harborside, a part of Brooksville, came in at #3.

Movoto went on to say that Harborside "one of the smallest spots in our top 10, at only 79 residents, but those few people who call this area home are lucky enough to enjoy waterfront property, beautiful homes, and some of the biggest earnings anywhere in America. People here made $171,604 per capita. So while autumn may be about all the beautiful colors here, locals are probably most into the color green."

Gibson Island in Maryland came in at #1, followed up by Houston, Texas and then Harborside, Maine.

Harborside is home to fishermen and summer people.  It is across Goose Pond from Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park. You can see Islesboro and Castine from its shores.

How did Movoto come up with their numbers?  They consulted the Census’ American Community Survey for 2008 to 2012. Then using that source, they examined each ZIP code based on per capita income.
