Bangor Police say a local transient was arrested when a resident found him, half-naked, in her house.

Sergeant Wade Betters says police were called to the residence on Webster Avenue North at around 10:30 Thursday evening. A homeowner was upstairs when they heard a noise coming from the first floor. Upon inspection, the resident found a strange man, with no pants on, inside her house. She called the police and hid in a different room until the officers arrived a couple minutes later.

They quickly located 37-year-old Brian Swett in the kitchen and took him into custody. The homeowner's purse and several cabinets and drawers had been ransacked, and Swett was found in possession of some of her property.

Swett was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with Burglary and Theft. At last report, he had not made bail.
