Bangor Police are investigating a robbery overnight that emptied a local pawn shop's handgun case.

For the second time in a month, J.G. Pawn Shop on Center Street in Bangor has been robbed of firearms and it looks like even more guns were taken this time around. WABI-TV reports that owner Josh Gallant was notified of the robbery at around 3:15 a.m. He told police that he thinks about 15 handguns were taken overnight. Two weeks ago, the shop was robbed and five guns were taken, for a total of 20.

He told TV-5 that it appears someone went in the window next to the door, removed the top off the glass case that contained the guns, and stole the firearms. The rack that had held the weapons was left in the middle of Center Street.

Bangor Police are investigating. Anyone who thinks they may have information about either robbery is urged to call the department at 947-7384.
