It sounds like the subject of a children's book - a little gray fox happens across some sunflower seeds, meant to feed the birds. But, he's hungry, so he chomps them down happily, while a cardinal protests from a nearby tree. However, it's not a story, and someone in Bangor caught it on video!

In the spring, we tend to warn people about bird feeders and hungry bears. When they first wake up, they're ravenous, and so will go after anything in your yard, especially bird feeders!

As the weather warms, your feeders are more apt to be attacked by smart squirrels who know it's an easy way to get a snack. A raccoon might even go after your seeds, especially if they're on the ground, like the sunflower seeds in this video.

But I wouldn't expect to see a fox munching on them! I guess it goes back to that children's story theme again - when I think of a fox sneaking food, it's more likely a chicken will come to mind. Maybe this little guy is a vegetarian!
