On March 6 and 7, Granger Smith will set out on his Granger Across Merica Pledge of Allegiance Tour to show his patriotism and remind Americans of the principles the United States was founded upon. Check back here for live updates as he visits each of the 13 original colonies to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

7:15AM — Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pa.

Independence Hall provided a fitting backdrop for Granger Smith to launch day two of his Pledge of Allegiance Tour. The “Backroad Song” singer is in the middle of a grueling two-day trek across the East Coast, where he will visit sites in all 13 original American colonies and Washington, D.C. in 36 hours.

Fans and media came out to recite the Pledge with Granger this morning, despite cold weather. Philadelphia’s Country Station 92.5 XTU and CBS 3 broadcast live, and Granger answered fans’ questions about the upcoming 6 Man Jam, a charity guitar pull concert taking place April 8 at the Fillmore Philadelphia.

The Pledge of Allegiance kicked off Sunday morning at 7AM in Atlanta, Ga., and will end in New York City’s Battery Park at 8PM Monday night. Fans in cities along the way — Hartford, Connecticut; Providence, Rhode Island; Boston, Massachusetts; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and East Rutherford, New Jersey — are invited to join the fun live. Fans in other cities can check back here all day for Taste of Country exclusive content and updates from Granger.

10AM — Connecticut Capitol in Hartford, Ct.

For the second stop on Day 2 of his Pledge of Allegiance Tour, Smith visited the Connecticut State Capitol building in Hartford. The building — constructed in the 1870s – houses the Connecticut State Senate and Governor of Connecticut, among other state offices.

Like other stops, Granger fans of all ages showed up, with many of them donning Yee Yee shirts and hats to recite the Pledge of Allegiance with the country singer in front of the historic landmark.

"Is 'Merica' going to be released as a single to radio?" a female fan asked after the Pledge, referring to the Earl Dibbles Jr. contribution to Smith's new album, Remington. “Because it would go instantly to No. 1! It would be the next ‘Red Solo Cup!’” Other fans nearby cheered in agreement.

Smith spent several minutes taking pictures with fans, signing autographs and doing radio interviews before departing for the day’s third stop in Providence, R.I.

12PM — Mile End Cove in Providence, RI

Smith hit double digits in Providence, marking his third stop of the day and 10th of the short Pledge of Allegiance Tour. A news crew from Providence's NBC 10 was on hand to film the "If the Boot Fits" singe and fans as they recited the Pledge by the water at Mile End Cove.

2:45PM — Boston

After 10 straight Pledge of Allegiance Tour stops going like clockwork, there was a last-minute change of plans in Boston due to a protest at Boston Harbor.

Luckily, local radio stations 101.7 The Bull and Country 102.5 worked together to help find a new location at the last minute, keeping Smith's grueling tour almost on time.

Fans had a great time gathering at Christopher Columbus park to join in the Pledge. "Protests are part of what this nation was built on," Smith told them. "There's no better reason I can think of for us to have a venue change than a group of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights."

The next stop is in New Hampshire, and it's almost wheels-up time! Check back soon for a recap of Smith's twelfth stop.

4:30PM — North Church at Town Square in Portsmouth, NH

Every stop on the Pledge of Allegiance Tour has been special, but reciting the Pledge at the North Church was definitely a moment to remember. The Church served as the place of worship for George Washington and signers of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Smith was greeted by dozens of fans, many of whom brought their own American flags — some fans came from as far away as northern Maine!

7PM — MetLife Stadium in New Jersey

Granger Smith visited his second professional football stadium in as many days Monday night, making his 13th stop on the Pledge of Allegiance Tour at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

At the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants, Smith talked to fans about the importance of words like "freedom," "revolution" and the Pledge of Allegiance. Like previous stops, country fans showed up in YeeYee hats and shirts. One dedicated fan even joined by FaceTime to recite the Pledge along with the gathered crowd.

Opened in 2010, MetLife Stadium is the newest landmark on Smith's 14-stop patriotic run. The venue is sandwiched between two much-older spots: New Hampshire's North Church and New York's Battery Park.

8:15PM — Battery Park in New York, NY

Smith's tour of the 13 Colonies and Washington, D.C. came to an end at 8:15 Monday night at New York City's Battery Park, in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty.

"I couldn't ask for a better place to end this tour," he told the crowd. He spent 45 minutes visiting with the gathered fans and even gave one lucky patron the flag that he used during his Pledge of Allegiance Tour. "Take care of it," he told her. "That flag's been to a lot of great places over the past 36 hours!"

Although the tour is complete, Smith's schedule isn't slowing down much. He has a 4:15AM call-time Tuesday morning for an appearance during the 10AM hour of Today, and he'll be up early again Wednesday for a taping of Fox and Friends. Tune in to watch him perform songs from Remington!
