Governor Paul LePage on Thursday ordered U.S. and State of Maine flags to be flown at half-staff in observance of Memorial Day.

Flags should be lowered from sunrise to noon on Monday.

“Our brave servicemen and women have fought for us and died for us, and there is no way to repay them for what they have given," said Governor LePage in a press release sent out on Thursday. "But on this Memorial Day, we can show that we are grateful for all of our fallen heroes.”

Flags are to be flown at half-staff until noon to honor those who payed the ultimate price.

Flags will then be raised to honor all living veterans.
