Officials say one person has died as the result of a collision between an SUV and a fuel truck in Gorham this morning.

The accident happened around 5:30 this morning and involved two vehicles on the Gorham Bypass.  Police Chief Daniel Jones told WGME-TV that an SUV crossed the center line and struck a fuel truck. The person driving the SUV is the one that was killed.

While no fuel spilled from the tanker truck, a pin was broken. That means the fuel must be emptied out of the truck before it can be moved. Police say Narragansett Street to South Street, or the Bernard Rines bypass from Route 202 to Route 114 is expected to be closed all day.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
