Teams are needed for a golf tournament planned for July 16th in Holden that will raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The 'Brewer Students Sweep Away Cancer' tournament will be held at Traditions Golf Course in Holden on Sunday, July 16th, with some great prizes on the course, and a chance to bid on silent auction items. The unique part about this tournament is that everyone who participates will walk away with some sort of prize. No one goes home empty-handed. Plus, they'll have the satisfaction of knowing they've helped a very worthy cause by taking part in this team fundraiser for Relay for Life.

There will be some great prizes on the course, including a new car from Van Syckle Kia for getting a hole-in-one on Hole #2! Contests during the tournament will include the longest drive, a putting contest, and closest to the pin competitions. In addition, a silent auction will include items like a weekend getaway to Bar Harbor, 'My first waterslide,' dining packages, and much more. The event is also looking for sponsors for packages that range from signage at the event to the company's name appearing in a brochure.

Registration and a light breakfast will start at 7 a.m. on July 16th at Traditions Golf Course. The range opens at 7 and the shotgun start is at 8. There will be a cash bar with snacks starting at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Finally, the event will end with an awards ceremony at 1:00. The entrance fee is $300 per team and the contest is open to 14 teams on a first-come, first-paid basis.
