September is Hunger Action Month. Get involved and help the 15% of Maine's population that struggles with hunger every day.

About 49 million Americans go hungry each day. While it may be impossible to save the world, we can at least try to do our part right here at home.

Hunger advocates around Maine and the US will wear orange tomorrow (Thursday, September 4th) to raise awareness about this growing issue. But what's more important that just showing recognition for the problem is actually getting out there and taking action.

This website shares some ideas how you can help out. You can also contribute to the "Gallon Give" milk drive at select Hannaford locations around Maine with the Maine Dairy Promotion Board on Saturday, September 20th.

Learn more about Hunger Action Month and download a "30 Ways in 30 Days" calendar that lists different ways to get involved during each day in September.
