In today's society a 'glass ceiling' still exists for women who try to engage in areas that have always been dominated by women. But for one high school girl, she all but shattered that ceiling in boys football clearing the way for other young women to follow.

Her name is Erin Dimeglio, and she was a student at South Plantation High School in Florida. Her dream at that time was to don football gear and play with the boys. Her naysayers were plenty--even her dad wasn't too keen on the idea, but she persisted. Eventually, she was given a shot and successfully conducted two plays which made history in high school football in Florida.

Dimeglio, who now attends college where she she excels in sports, is a great inspiration for all young women.

So parents, encourage your daughters to go after their dreams and passions. Times...they are a changin'.
