Gary Allan has had a huge career reboot, thanks to the success of his new album ‘Set You Free.’ The celebrated singer-songwriter got the chance to thank radio programmers from all across the country in person for his airplay success by performing a career-spanning set at the 2013 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville Thursday (Feb. 28).

Kicking off with ‘Watching Airplanes,’ the singer ran through a strong, energetic and extremely diverse set that showed off not only his remarkable voice, but the instrumental chops of his band. ‘Nothing On But the Radio,’ ‘Smoke Rings in the Dark,’ ‘Best I Ever Had’ and ‘Pieces,’ his current single, were also included in the set.

Allan thanked the industry crowd for 17 years of their support before wrapping up with the biggest song of his career, the recent No. 1 hit ‘Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain).’ He brought co-writer Hillary Lindsey on stage to sing backing vocals on the song, which revitalized his career.

His set may have also given a strong hint as to his future plans at radio. Allan turned in an incendiary performance of ‘It Ain’t the Whiskey’ from ‘Set You Free,’ introducing it by saying, “If anything in the universe goes my way, it will be a single someday.”
