Garth Brooks has announced his first tour dates in the Birmingham area in nearly two decades.

The country icon and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, have announced two concerts In Birmingham, Ala. in June. They are set to perform at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13. Both concerts are set to take place at 7PM.

The shows are part of Brooks' ongoing world tour, which has been selling out multiple shows in every market. The massive tour marks an end to Brooks' self-imposed retirement of more than a dozen years, when he took time away from his music career to raise his three daughters in Oklahoma.

Brooks released a new album, Man Against Machine, in November of 2014. He has released two singles from the project; the lead single, "People Loving People," was the kind of anthem Brooks has been known for over the years, while the second single, "Mom," is a powerful ballad. Brooks received a platinum disc for the album in January. He is featuring new music in his shows and has promised another new studio project for 2015, which he has hinted might even be a concept album.

Yearwood also has new music in the shows. She released a new studio project, PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit, in November, and is currently promoting an emotional new single titled "I Remember You," which is in memory of her late mother.
