A home that was being prepared as a rental was destroyed by fire today. Fire investigators will be called in to determine what caused the blaze.

Crews were called to the home on the Campbell Road in Garland today just before noon. Garland Fire Chief Bruce Smith says flames were shooting from the eaves when they arrived and it was a stubborn blaze to fight.

The owner had just recently left when the fire started. He was working to fix the house up before renting it out. No one was hurt in the fire but the house was deemed a total loss.

Crews from Garland, Dexter, Corinna, and East Corinth fought the fire today.The State Fire Marshall's office will investigate to try and determine what caused the blaze.
