A Gardiner man is going to prison for burning down the camper where his former boss's family was living.

WABI-TV reports 35-year-old Joseph Manganella is sentenced to 8 years in prison, with all but 3 years suspended. He pleaded guilty last month to arson for a camper fire in July.

Police say the fire destroyed a camper in Gardiner where Eric and Kristie Baker lived with their 3 children. Manganella had worked for Baker as a roofer.

No one was home when the fire was set and so there were no injuries. Initially, investigators thought the fire was an attempt to cover up the theft of tools by Mangella. He later admitted to having been on drugs at the time of the incident and pleaded guilty to arson.
