A fundraiser and auction will be held later this month for the Carter Family of Clifton. Ricky Carter Jr., 21, suffered a tragic accident recently and is currently recovering in the hospital.

You may have heard Ricky and his younger brother Ryan play at clubs in the area as the Carter Boys. Or chances are pretty good, if you frequent the local band scene, you've run into Ricky's Dad Richard a time or two with his guitar and harmonica. The Carters have always been there to help out at fundraisers for others. Now it's our chance to give back to them!

The Ricky Carter, Jr. fundraiser is being held at Cap's Tavern on South Main Street in Brewer on Sunday, March 24th from 1pm to 7pm. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, live auction, food throughout the day, and of course, music. Anyone who knows the Carter family knows there's always music! A suggested donation of $3 at the door and $5 for the food table will be welcomed to help the family cover Ricky's hospital costs.

Donations of items for the auctions are needed, so if you have anything you could contribute, that would be great! Contact Tammy Harlow at 825-3560 or Cheryl Worster Foss at 944-9275. And spread the word to anyone else you think might be able to help out!

If you can't make the benefit, but would still like to help out, a fund has been set up at People's United Bank, 191 River Road, Orrington, Maine 04474, c/o Richard Carter, Senior.

Here's a video of Ricky, Jr., Ryan, and Richard Sr. in action. What an incredibly talented family!
