A truck carrying a load of french fries overturned on I-95 Monday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the tractor trailer overturned late Monday afternoon on I-95 in Pittsfield. Troopers determined that the semi entered a one-lane construction zone when the driver was blinded by the setting sun. In order to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of him, he drove the truck into the median-side ditch, which caused it to roll. The truck ended up coming to rest on the driver's side.

None of the load was ejected, however the rig did leak some diesel fuel that was dealt with by the Pittsfield Fire Department. The driver, 24-year-old Conor MacDonald of Prince Edward Island, was hauling his load of french fries to Florida and wasn't hurt in the accident.
