The Washington County Children's Program is once again offering a week-long free dental clinic for people in need.

Once again this year, the Dental Outreach Program will feature services from the New York University College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program during the week of April 11th. The dental team will treat almost 600 patients over the course of the week, including adults who don't have access to dental care, and it's all free of charge! WCCP will bill MaineCare, if it's available, to help cover the cost of the program. But there's no out of pocket expense to you!

The Dental Outreach Program offers a variety of services, including complete dental care for children:

  • Dental Examinations
  • Fluoride Varnish
  • Sealants
  • Fillings
  • Extractions
  • Stainless Steel Crowns
  • X-Rays

While the program is not able to offer cleanings or denture services to adults, there are many emergency services that will be offered:

  • Dental Examinations
  • X-Rays
  • Sealants
  • Fillings
  • Root Canals
  • Extractions

One difference this year, is that the services are available to anyone in need, not just residents of Washington County. The clinic will be held April 11th to the 16th at the Lee Pellon Event Center, 90 Main Street in Machias, however it will be closed on Thursday of that week. It's meant for people who don't have access to dental care and organizers say shouldn't be used if you're already receiving treatment from a dentist. Appointments are suggested for children, but adults are seen on a first-come, walk-in basis. For more information, call (207) 255-3426 or, starting on Monday, call 263-5805 or log onto the WCCP website.
