Following the shooting of multiple police officers in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday night (July 7), Florida Georgia Line have shared a new song from their upcoming Dig Your Roots album, "Music Is Healing," which has a particularly poignant message.

On both his own Instagram account and FGL's official Instagram account, Tyler Hubbard writes, "This song has never rang more true. My heart is broken. 'Love is the answer, and music is healing.' Praying for this country.” The accompanying video features a snippet of "Music Is Healing" playing over a stationary image of two police officers, one African-American and one white; each man has "His Life MATTERS" written on his hand, with an arrow underneath the words that points to the other.

"Tears on my six string / Another angel gone / Leaving you all alone, dealing with your demons," Hubbard sings in what appears to be the first verse of "Music Is Healing." "I know you're layin' there, wonderin' if your prayers ever make it through the ceiling, too / Yeah, I know what you're going through ..."

The chorus of "Music Is Healing" says: "If I could write the perfect song / Make a little right out of all the wrong / Would you close your eyes? / Would you let it in? / Would you light your candle against the wind? / If I could sing the perfect words / And change the world / Unhurt the hurt that we’re all feeling / Stop the bleeding, get back to believing / Love is the answer, and music is healing.”

According to the iTunes track listing, "Music Is Healing" is the 12th track on Dig Your Roots, which is due out on Aug. 26.

Five police officers were killed and seven more, as well as two civilians, were injured on Thursday night when a a sniper opened fire during a protest responding to the recent killings of two Black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, by police in Louisiana and Minnesota, respectively. According to CNN, police believe that 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson, who was killed after a standoff with police, was the only shooter.
