The state fire marshal's office says propane caused the explosion that destroyed a house in Union on Thursday.

Fire investigators say two portable propane heaters had been installed in the house during renovations.

They say a problem with the heaters or the gas line caused a buildup of propane that ignited.

No one was hurt in the blast. The occupants of the house had been staying elsewhere because of the renovations.
