Firefighters from a number of communities responded to a blaze that destroyed a home in Montville, leaving at least one resident displaced.

WABI reported Tuesday that the fire leveled a home on Halldale Road.

Montville firefighters were assisted at the scene by crews Liberty, Morrill, Searsmont, Freedom, and Thorndike. Crews from Brooks and Unity were on standby.

One person who was displaced by the blaze was being supported by the Red Cross.

Public Information Officer Karen York pointed out that the fire occurred a few weeks after an accident that took the life of a young man.

“The mutual aid towns that all came today, all helped participate in the fundraiser that occurred last week and they're all here to help us today. Everybody works together and they do a fabulous job.”
