A mobile home in Eddington was destroyed by fire overnight, and a firefighter injured.

WABI-TV reports an Eddington man called for help at around 8:30 Tuesday evening, telling the dispatcher that he was trapped in the burning house. By the time crews arrived at the mobile home on Meadow Lane, the man was able to get out on his own. He wasn't hurt in the blaze.

It was a challenging fire to fight because of the cold, ice, and the lack of water in the rural setting. Eddington's Fire Chief said they were using tankers to bring water from a hydrant on Route 178. One firefighter was taken to the hospital after slipping and falling on the ice at the scene.

Investigators are now working to determine how the fire started.
