Melt that butter! Get out the vinegar! It’s time for some fiddleheads!

For those of you who have picked fiddleheads on your own, you know it (especially the cleaning) can be a chore. Aroostook Fiddlehead Stands are now open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until they sell out) with clean, fresh fiddleheads naturally-grown and professionally harvested from the banks of northern Maine rivers.

They are available locally at two locations: in the parking lot of the Cozy Inn on Wilson Street in Brewer and outside Movie Magic on the Odlin Road in Bangor.

While you’re there, sign up (no purchase necessary) to win tickets to see Miranda Lambert at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor this summer!

Once you bring your fiddleheads home, cook them thoroughly. You can prepare them in a number if different ways like sauteeing them or serving them with pasta.

If you have any good recipes for fiddleheads, leave them in the comments below!
