A Gardiner man faces charges after police say they found child pornography on his computer.

Justin Nichols, 39, of South Gardiner was arrested at his home Monday and charged with one count of possessing sexually explicit material. His computer was seized and will now be analyzed by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

State Police began investigating Nichols after receiving a tip he was sharing photos of children over the internet. None of the children are believed to be from Maine.

Nichols is a father of four children. He is now free on bail with the condition that he have no contact with minors.

His court date is set for Feb. 25.
