IN HONOR OF MOTHER’S DAY, PLANET FITNESS In Waterville, Maine will DONATE ENROLLMENT FEES TO THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Waterville, ME (May 8, 2013) – This Mother’s Day, $10 never meant so much. Planet Fitness, the innovative health club franchise known for its Judgement Free Zone® and friendly prices, today announced that location(s) in Waterville, ME are sponsoring the brand’s fourth annual Mother’s Day promotion to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), an independent not-for-profit organization committed to funding scientific research to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer.
In honor of Mother’s Day from May 8th-15th, people can join for just $10 down and then $10 a month, and participating Planet Fitness locations nationwide will donate 100% of enrollment fees to BCRF. Over the past three years, Planet Fitness has donated more than $1 million to BCRF, and the company and its franchisees this year hope to surpass previous years’ donations.
“The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is grateful for the support of Planet Fitness in helping BCRF raise both money and awareness, for the fourth year in a row, for BCRF’s lifesaving research efforts that are aimed at prevention and a cure for breast cancer,” said Myra J. Biblowit, BCRF President. “In the U.S. alone, unfortunately every 2.3 minutes a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer — a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. To implement this program during the Mother’s Day holiday is a clear way to make a difference and speak to women across the nation affected by breast cancer at such an alarming rate.”
“Partnering with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to help provide support for such a worthy cause is fulfilling and is the right thing to do,” said Kris Glidden, Independent owner/operator of Planet Fitness locations. “We are committed to helping better people’s lives, through fitness and giving back to our communities, and with so many grandmothers, mothers and daughters touched by breast cancer, Planet Fitness felt this promotion was the perfect way to honor Mother’s Day.”
