Local law enforcement and the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to hold a second Drug Take-Back Day.

Organizers say the first event, which was held in April, was a huge success, so a second drug take-back day will be held September 26.

Area residents can drop off their unused, unwanted or expired prescription medication at the chamber parking lot on High Street between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Dropping off your prescription medication “makes your home safer and allows us to dispose of these medications in an environmentally friendly way,” said Sheriff Scott Kane.

Organizers collected 1,067 pounds of medications at the event last April.
