The interim principal for Ellsworth High School was appointed by the school board Tuesday night for the upcoming school year.

EHS is bringing back Bruce Lindberg, who previously held various positions at EHS like teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant principal from 1979 until the early 1990's. Lindberg is going to serve for the 2014-15 school year while EHS conducts a search for a new, permanent principal during the late winter/early spring of 2015.

Superintendent of Schools, Dan Higgins, says Lindberg has extensive successful experience as a high school principal, both in the public and private school setting, in Maine and outside of Maine, and internationally. Higgins also stated Lindberg is well respected in the field of education, and more importantly, in the city of Ellsworth.

Ellsworth High School’s search for a new principal was suspended earlier this summer when staffers determined none of the applicants had the right qualifications.
