Get rid of all those unwanted electronics next weekend in Bangor at a free recycling event. And, because the organizers like to have some fun with it, they call it a party and hand out free stuff!

Penobscot Community Health Care is hosting the free event on Saturday, June 14th in Bangor. Electronics End LLC will have trucks set up to take your used electronics and then dispose of them properly, rather than dumping them in landfills. Last year, PCHC collected more than 40,000 pounds of electronics!

Folks who stop by can get rid of computers, laptops, printers, monitors, televisions, and batteries from power tools, computers, automobiles, and trucks! Items with refrigerants, such as air conditioners and refrigerators will not be accepted. And there's absolutely no cost for dropping off your stuff. They won't even ask you for a donation!

And, as an added bonus, every 25th participating vehicle will win a gift card to Dunkin' Donuts! So you can go get an iced coffee to reward yourself for being environmentally responsible.

The Public e-waste disposal day will be held on Saturday, June 14th from 9am to 2pm, near the flagpole in front of PCHC's Dental Center. That's on Union Street in Bangor, near the airport. For more information about the event you can log onto the PCHC website.
