A Dexter man is facing charges after intentionally hitting two police cruisers as he tried to run from police while driving drunk.

WABI-TV reports police were originally looking for 40-year-old Edward Crooks in connection stalking and harrassment claims. So when they spotted his vehicle at around 10:00 last night on North Street in Dover-Foxcroft, they tried to get him to pull over. Officials say Crooks sped off and, at some point during the pursuit, turned off a side street and drove directly into the front of a Piscataquis deputy's cruiser. He then put his vehicle in reverse and slammed into the front of a Dover-Foxcroft cruiser.

The Dover-Foxcroft officer was able to pin Crooks' car between the two damaged cruisers. Police had to use a taser on the suspect after he refused to get out of his vehicle.
