Area residents will be able to safely dispose of expired medication and sensitive documents at an event in Bangor on Friday.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and Bangor Police Department will be conducting a drug take-back at the Airport Mall on Union Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A free shredding event sponsored by the AARP will also take place at the mall from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

For folks who can’t make it to the Airport Mall, law enforcement agencies across the state will be conducting individual drug take-back events on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office will be at Cascade Park on State St. in Bangor on Saturday.
