A Sanford man was killed when his vehicle was rear-ended and pushed into the path of a school bus.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at a New Hampshire hospital. The accident happened at around 1:40 Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Portland Street and Old Route 4 in Berwick.

Police say a 42-year-old Sanford woman, driving a Rav 4, rear-ended the man's Ford Fusion while it was making a turn. The collision pushed the Fusion into the path of a school bus driven by a 75-year-old man from Kittery. There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash.

Police have not released the names of the people involved, as they continue to investigate the accident.
