Police say the driver of an SUV in New Limerick this morning fell asleep behind the wheel before the vehicle rolled over, injuring the father and his two children.

It was just after 6:00 this morning when State Police say Zachary McCarty dozed off while driving on the Campbell Road in New Limerick. The SUV crossed the centerline and left the roadway, striking a utility pole before coming to rest on its side.

McCarty's two children, 2-year-old Bentley McCarty and 4-year-old Zachary McCarty, were passengers in the SUV. Young Zachary was ejected from the vehicle. Police say all three people were in restraints when the trip started, but the 4-year-old was known to unbuckle his while driving. All three were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
