Many of us here at Townsquare Media in Brewer, Maine, own dogs. My wife and I own two at present time, and have owned three total in our 29 plus-years of marriage. We love them dearly, and we're pretty certain they love us--at least based on their reactions when we're home. But is it the same kind of love that we feel for them? Do they react only because we are a source of the necessities they need to survive?

A group of scientists at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, decided to find out if a dog's love is on the same level as humans. What they found out is confirming and pretty remarkable.
