As winter approaches a dispatcher from the Presque Isle Police Department reminds all Maine residents to be sure your address numbers are highly visible during the winter months.

Dispatcher Lucas Roy says you can affix your address numerals to your house, your mailbox, or both depending on your personal preference. But snow often times blocks mailboxes from being readily visible and mailboxes can also be accidentally struck and knocked over by plow trucks. Roy says make sure address numbers can be seen from the roadway because you never know when you might to need police or fire services. By ensuring your residence is clearly numbered it makes for a quicker response by emergency personnel when needed.
