State police continue to investigate the discovery of the remains of a full-term baby boy found inside a Fairfield garage on Monday, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

The baby’s parents, Kayla Stewart, 20, and Nicholas Blood, 25, are cooperating with investigators and have been interviewed by police, McCausland said.

The baby was found in a garage at the couple’s mobile home on Route 139.

The couple lived in the home with their three-year-old daughter, who is now staying with other relatives.

Detectives have been gathering evidence from the home and garage since Sunday and that work was expected to be completed Wednesday night.
