An Italian dinner and live auction this weekend in Newport will benefit Camp Capella, which offers a full camping experience for kids with disabilities.

It sounds like a fun evening and it's happening Saturday at the Newport Rec Center! Start off with a delicious Italian dinner, sponsored by Bud's Shop-N-Save of Pittsfield and Hannaford of Newport. The event page on Facebook didn't specify, but I'm assuming that means spaghetti, garlic bread, and all the fixin's! Dinner is just $6 for adults, $4 for kids 12 and under and will be served from 4 to 6 p.m.

Then it's time for the live auction, that begins at 6:30 p.m. There will be plenty of great items up for bid, including restaurant gift certificates, oil changes, household items, sporting goods, and a lot more! And all the proceeds will benefit the camp in Dedham.

Camp Capella is located on Phillips Lake and gives children and adults with disabilities opportunities they might not otherwise have. Boating, fishing, hiking, swimming...it's all available at this beautiful camp in the woods. For more information about the dinner and auction, log onto the Facebook event page. Learn more about the camp at its website or call Harvey Chesley at 314-0637.
