As we gear up for this summer's Waterfront Concert Series, I keep going to You Tube, looking for cool videos of some of the artists we'll see in Bangor this summer. I've always loved the Dierks Bentley song "Beautiful World" and especially the fact that he sings it with Maine native Patty Griffin!

Patty grew up in Old Town and is the youngest of six. She bought her first guitar for fifty bucks at the age of 16. Patty liked to sing and play but never took it seriously until after a failed marriage, when she began playing coffeehouses in Boston. It was there that she was scouted by A&M Records and given her shot. Known for a folk-music feel to her writing, Patty's songs have been covered by artists like Emmylou Harris, Ellis Paul, and the Dixie Chicks!

Dierks Bentley will be in Bangor on August 2nd with Miranda Lambert and special guest Kix Brooks! The Locked and Reloaded Tour promises great music at the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion! As a matter of fact, I previously posted a cool preview of Dierks and Miranda singing together onstage!

If you don't have your tickets yet, pick them up at Mark's Music in Brewer, or buy them online. Don't miss the Locked and Reloaded Tour with Miranda, Dierks, and Kix in August!
