The State Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of a man whose body was found in a Northern Maine house a homicide.

The man's body was found inside a Caribou house Thursday night after firefighters were called to 5 Lower Lyndon Street for a report of a fire. Damage was contained to the interior of the house, located at the corner of Van Buren Road.

On Friday, State Police and the Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide. The victim's ID is still being worked on and DNA is being used in the process. Officials ask that anyone who saw any activity around the house between 6 and 10 p.m. last night to call the State Police barracks in Houlton at 532-5400 or Caribou Police.
