Death Of Inmate Under Investigation In Windham

A prisoner at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham died early Monday morning.

Jeppie Phillips, 51, of Lewiston died at 2:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Maine Department of Corrections.

Maine State Police and the medical examiner are reviewing the death.

Phillips had served 7 weeks of a 9 month sentence for operating after habitual offender revocation, with two prior convictions.
