Dead Man Identified by Police as Bangor Resident

Bangor Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a man’s death and now they’re reaching out to the public for more information.

During last week’s major snow storm, police received a report on a person lying on the ground in front of the Walmart sign on Stillwater Avenue.

A man was found dead and police say they are treating his death as a criminal investigation.

Today, police have identified the victim as Derek McLeod, 27, of Bangor but say they have no more information.

The state medical examiner’s office is waiting on the results of a toxicology report.

In fact, police ask that if anyone had any contact with McLeod the evening of March 12 into the morning of March 13, to contact Bangor police at (207) 947-7384 ext. 5714.
