The new Animal Planet Channel series "Flipping Ships" is all about reviving lifeless abandoned boats and giving them new lives with people who will enjoy them the most. You might recognise the host as 90's singer Edwin McCain who has put music on the back burner for now and is focusing on his other passion, boats.

In the series premier Edwin jumps on board with long time friend Darius Rucker to flip a boat to benefit one of their favorite charities, the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital. Both singers have deep connections with the charity causing Darius to challenge Edwin and his Boats Have Souls team to build the outdate Rock-n-Roll speedboat to be auctioned off.

In the episode you will see a 1950s Sea King to its former seaworthy glory! Retro fins and a classic console are just some of the modifications done to the race car of the water.

Check out the series trailer and a clip of the first episode with Darius Rucker below.

"Flipping Ships" airs this Friday, at 9PM on Animal Planet.
